Municipal Program
AMBAG Energy Watch offers the following energy efficiency services and incentives for municipal facilities in AMBAG member cities and counties.
- Energy Assessments. PG&E and AMBAG will work with member counties and cities to identify public facilities suitable for energy assessments. The assessment will recommend energy efficiency measures that could be implemented to achieve energy and cost savings.
- Retrofit Project Incentives. Rebates are available for retrofit projects in municipal facilities which reduce energy use. AMBAG Energy Watch staff can assist all jurisdictions in obtaining the maximum available incentive for their projects and managing applications with PG&E to ensure the criteria for receiving an incentive are met. Please contact our office for guidance with any energy savings projects that may be implemented in your jurisdiction.
- Direct Installation of Measures. AMBAG Energy Watch can install some energy efficiency measures free of charge or at highly discounted co-payment levels for AMBAG city, county or special district facilities. Examples of equipment available include:
- LED exit signs
- Occupancy sensors
- Energy efficient lighting retrofits
For more information on resources and programs available to municipal and special district facilities, please contact Joe Button at 831-264-5089 or jbutton@ambag.org.

By participating in AMBAG Energy Watch, member cities and counties are taking a leadership role by showing other California communities how energy efficiency actions and measures can better manage energy use, reduce operating costs, and help protect the environment.
